Life Lately

May was pleasant, for which I’m very grateful. It was about picking up the pieces and trying to establish a new routine. It was really nice to have a very easy month after an emotionally draining one. God moves in mysterious ways indeed.

May Favorites & Highlights

  • I finally caught up with my spring anime list, which I’ve shared here. I had to drop a bunch of series because I’m not really in the right headspace to handle more. But despite that, I’ve found a few gems among the new releases I checked out last month. Right now, I’m hooked on Wind Breaker and Kaiju No. 8, especially the latter—it’s quickly become one of my favorites this year! I’ve also just started Sakamoto Days and can’t wait to see it as an anime next year. So yeah, I’ve mostly been diving into reading to distract myself from everything else weighing on my mind.
  • I ran another errand, and oh boy, I wish the higher-ups got their act together and finalized it already because I hate going back and forth! Apart from the time spent going to the office, all the money needed for it just screams hassle. So yeah, I hope their management does something about it because people are pissed.
  • We had to sort out a lot of things in the house. We did some minor renovations just to change the vibe in the house a little bit—make it gentler? My sister and I changed the flooring and added wallpapers just to make things look different. And it helps. We were honestly so distraught about what had happened, and we thought these little things we were doing helped us move on.
  • I bought a new backup phone because I noticed my old one had a slight bump on the back, and I immediately suspected the battery might have swollen, which is dangerous (it’s almost 5 years old, so it needs to retire). I chose a Xiaomi phone for my backup. I usually use it for my public number (like deliveries) and simple internet browsing, so it doesn’t need to be super advanced. However, I’m still amazed at how smooth and fast it is!
  • I’ve been going out a lot in preparation for my upcoming travel plans this June. I’m both excited and nervous, but I’ll share the details below!

June Agenda

  • My sister’s and my only paw child’s, Lexi’s, birthday! Just a simple celebration because my sister and I have travel plans. The last time we did this was also in June 2016! It’s been that long already! She hasn’t traveled in a while due to health and work, so I’m excited for her too. That’s why I invited her to come along with us (just a sisters’ travel and nephew this time).
  • Speaking of our trip, it’s going to be my first time going there (keeping it a secret)! I’m excited and nervous (as I always am). We’re a bit concerned about the weather because it’s summertime there. I live in a tropical country, so I’m used to hot and humid conditions, but I’m hoping it’s not as extreme as the weather we have here! I want to be able to walk the streets without sweating buckets.
  • I just renewed my domain! Wow, I realized that my blog is entering its 14th year! Honestly, I’m thinking about redesigning this little place of mine. But with the amount of things I need to do and my laziness, I hope I can power through because I want to celebrate my 15 years of blogging with a bang! I dare say that blogging for that long is an amazing achievement in itself!

Have a blessed and amazing June, everyone! 🌱😊
