May ’23 Log: Nice ordinary month!
As per my title, it was an uneventful and chill month! I think I mentioned that last month, too. Since I’ve taken care of most of my immediate to-do list, there was nothing left but to catch up on my other not-so-urgent tasks. I made progress with some of them, but as always, I’m taking my oh-so-sweet time making them (I don’t want to end up sick again with eye strain and vertigo), so a small step is better than procrastinating. I’m happy that I’m moving forward with this project!
May Highlights:
- Speaking of projects, yes, you’ve read it right; I’m slowly but surely working on them now. I think it’s alright to say it here now, but I’m working on my own watch/read track website! After MAL got ha/ck/ed + they didn’t have webtoons (or any non-Japanese entries) in their database, I thought of making my own site instead. I’m doing my own tracking via Google Sheets, but it ain’t pretty, so I thought I should make my own. The design is pretty simple, but I want my database to be easily imported/exported. So I’m setting it up differently, so it may take a while. That said, I’m excited because it’s a personal project! I’ve been designing and developing websites for work, and it has been so long since I made something else (not my blog, although I made this theme last 2021, so that’s quite a bit of time since). So yeah, the creative juices are flowing! And even though I said the design was simple, it will still have so much personality. I’m excited to complete this project!
- Mother’s day! We went out again and dined at the same restaurant where we celebrated my little nephew’s birthday. Unlike during his birthday, the place was jam-packed (well, it was Mother’s Day, so it was understandable), and we had to wait before they could accommodate us, but the food is delicious there, so it was worth the wait!
- Also our eldest sib’s birthday. She doesn’t live in the Philippines, but my mom was eager to cook dinner for her. We learned that she was hospitalized and sick with the flu, but she was happy to know that we celebrated her birthday still.
- I renewed my domain, it was the right decision to take that .org as it turns out, it’s cheaper than .com! Luck’s on my side! But man, six years as faiery! That’s an achievement—the longest name I’ve ever held, er, holding? (even though I changed extensions—still six years!)
June Agenda:
- Continue that project; it will take months, but yay! for progress!
- Sister’s birthday, and also my furbaby ween’s seventh birthday. I thought of celebrating my fur baby’s birthday a little extra this year! She’s our furball of sunshine! My sister isn’t extra; I’m pretty sure she will just prepare dinner at home. I’m also looking out for dog’s cake for my beautiful ween! I love you, Lexi!
- Of course, we’re going to visit dad. It’s been 10 years since we lost dad but that day is still vivid in my mind! You’ll really never forget about it. I miss dad, his film recommendations (he watched movies every week), and how he mindlessly spent his allowance. His memories linger forever!
- My long-awaited psych consultation! I like the new appointment date, but yeah, I’m still nervous. The reason why I want to get myself checked is because I feel like my anxiety isn’t the normal kind, but you know, I’m getting anxious, and it’s been on my mind since I found out the original date. Now that nervousness has intensified as the date draws near! Just hoping for the best!
Manifesting a good month for everybody! God bless us this month!
