April ’23 Log: heat makes it a crueler summer!
I’m a little under the weather today, so this gonna be a quick recap, no fancy schmancy (not that I did everything relatively fancy before). I should write this when I feel better, but meh, if I delay it any longer, I’ll probably not write it ever, and that’s a hole in my calendar. I’m striving to be consistent here, which is why I tl;dr instead.
Anyhow, how was April? Hot? Super hot! The temperatures were crazy! Of course, we had so many holidays last month, but you know what, I’ve gotten lazier again! Also, I was on meds, so I tried not to do anything and just be my lazy self!
April Highlights.
- I went to the hospital for follow-ups once a week for the past 3 weeks, and I’m so exhausted speaking to doctors (
and you know what? I might need to consult another one if this persistent ear pain won’t stop; it’s been 3 days!) But I’m relieved and grateful that I’m clear and that everything’s normal. This was related to the health scare I had last month! But it is always better to err on the side of caution, and mostly it’s really for my peace of mind that I got the courage to get it checked! - I also postponed my psychiatric consultation because, like I said, I’m burned out! I have my new schedule confirmed, so hopefully I won’t chicken out (nah, it’s really just exhaustion and a conflict of schedules).
- In other non-health-related news, we celebrated my nephew and younger sister’s birthdays! We finally celebrated their birthday properly (since COVID-19 happened!) So it was nice to dine out and had fun with family. We went for some South American for the kiddo and then our go-to Japanese food for little sister’s birthday! It was yummy! It was a really nice dinner!
- My spring anime has started! If you haven’t seen my long-ass post, then proceed here! I dished out which ones I’m currently watching! But when I wrote it, I hadn’t seen some of them, and a few had just started. As a very brief reaction: my favorites (aside from Kimetsu no Yaiba, because duh, that’s given!) are Oshi no Ko, Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia, and Skip to Loafer! Followed by Jigokuraku and Tengoku Daimakyou. I was totally disappointed with Kanojo ga Koushakutei ni Itta Riyuu (although I’m not dropping it) because the animation is so poorly done! It might as well be a visual novel at this point! I want to make a proper impression—only if I have the willpower to do proper blogging!
May Agenda.
- Honestly, I took care most of my adult responsibilities last month, so I’m pretty free this month! I love chill days y’know. I couldn’t think of anything big (at least that’s what my calendar says), so I’m just hoping to do all the things I couldn’t do last April, like, say, wrapping up my Japan post and finally continuing the Journal Journey series!
- It’s my older sister’s birthday! She’s now living in Australia, so there’s no fancy dinner here haha!
- To finish my Gintama marathon! If the 11 new series aren’t enough, I added Gintama to my ginormous list! I saw so much artwork and news about Gintama that it compelled me to rewatch and continue until the end, ‘cos I haven’t gotten around to finishing the series, and I think the best time is now!
- Some sort of personal site! I’ve finished the setup; I just need the damn motivation to work on it! Gawd, I’m so lazy!
