November “slipped away into a moment in time,” no, seriously it did. I realized that I haven’t updated since that blog’s special cake day! Days just flew by, and my mood was between too tired and too lazy, but more of the former (I am not making an excuse, it’s true ). I saw myself several times rushing out of the door once I clocked out from work! And if I had free time, I ended up lazing around, doing nothing, and just resting! So yeah, and then I realized, man, November’s almost over again!

So first, I got new glasses! I broke my older glasses (yes, plural *sobs*), the second pair that I ruined (so no more spare), so I had to rush to repair them and maybe to get a new one? It was a holiday the next day too, so I had to make it before they closed @ 5PM! I got two new shiny pairs of glasses! (it’s about time, though the expense wasn’t part of my monthly budget but it was birthday month still (it was 31st then), so I thought to myself I deserved it. My small personal birthday gift!)

A few days later, I got my period….all was well until what was supposed to be the last day of my period. I experienced the most painful cramps ever. It was horrible! I do have painful cramps almost every single period, but it was nothing that painkillers, hot compresses, and a nice nap could subside! But not this time, I took meds, did everything I knew could help, but I was still in pain! I was practically bed-ridden the entire day ’cause moving aggravated it and doing toilet intensified it! I was a mess! The next day, it got a little better but pain remained! I asked my mom to accompany me to the ER, I knew it wasn’t normal! I needed to have it checked! So they got me to do some series of tests first, but all of them came back normal (it was a huge relief, but at the same time, I was confused as to why I was in this pain). ER doc asked me why I didn’t go to the gynecologist from the start and I told him that I wanted to check everything first, it could be something else, after all, it was the end of my period and I never had cramps this painful on the last day, but it turned out it was my reproductive organs that causing the pain. So I was immediately referred to gyne, did that painful internal ultrasound and they saw endometrioma, scarring, also my right ovary got bigger (by a few cms). Their diagnosis? I have endometriosis. I wasn’t recommended to do surgery, it is still manageable, so I am now taking dienogest (visanne), a progestogen hormone pill that will stop my period for a few months. I went to the hospital again for a follow-up and, so far, no side effects (this was my real worry, I read so many awful side effects I read online and I was most scared of mental health issues like depression. I’m anxious as it is already, so I can’t help but worry more ) but so far, so good. They also prescribed me to take calcium (apparently dienogest affects bone density). In this whole ordeal what the doctor told me in the ER about cramps is still in my mind: he said painful cramps like mine aren’t normal, they just got normalize. ☹

Welp, that got longer! I also got my second booster (right after my checkup)! Weird (but grateful), I didn’t have any side effects, like nada, unlike like my primary (j&j) or my first booster (moderna). I got pfizer this time because it was the only one available. I asked the personnel and even the doctor a few times if it was OK to have different brands of vaccine. They said it was fine. I also thought the additional booster was long overdue anyway, it was more or less 11 months since my first booster! Just wanna be protected, masking here has become optional (but people still wear masks much to my relief).

Then I have something I did which I’d rather not elaborate…
