Life Lately

Hello July! 👋 Here’s hoping that you’ll be less chaotic (though it was fun) and have an overall good month for everyone! But before anything else, let’s backtrack a bit and let me share a rundown of what happened last month (in the most ambiguous, nonspecific way I could possibly come up with—as expected of me!)

I know I said chaotic, but it was a very fun month for me! There were a few family events that took place last June, and then there were some things that I needed to do, and with some I needed to—well, stop, unfortunately. Let me get to the details now:

June Faves & Highlights

  • Celebrating the June babies in our household! First, my baby ween, Lexi, celebrated her 7th doggy birthday! 🐕 🎂 I’m so proud of this pooch! I know she goes feral at strangers (I think it’s a mini-dachshund trait), but I love her dearly! My younger sister did all the work, and I just helped walk her and took some pictures to commemorate it (I posted it on Twitter, ICYMI). Then, that said sister also planned her birthday dinner! I was so full that night! The last one to celebrate was my grandma’s, who is only 5 years away from her centenary! She has a very long life, I know! And she’s still quite strong for her age! It runs in her family; all of her sibs reached their 90s!
  • Another family event was remembering dad’s passing. It has been 10 years; it feels shorter than it actually is. I still can’t believe that dad’s been gone for a whole decade already. It’s true that time heals wounds; the first few years were still painful to remember, but now all we remember are the good times with him. He might not be the best father, and he made truly questionable decisions in life, but I know he sincerely loved his family!
  • Remember me talking about my online projects last month? Yeah, I am now scrapping that! 😮‍💨 Why? I have no time for it, and I realized it’s not really worth the hassle of building it just for me. I was updating my notion the other week when I realized I could just utilize this instead! I’m actually content with Google Sheets, but, like I said, it ain’t pretty. And notion table is fancier than Sheets, so I exported it and tweaked it a bit in Notion! So yeah, look at it! My 2023 reading list is recorded here as well! Saving my energy for a different project instead!
  • Taylor announced her Eras tour international dates, and sadly, PH wasn’t included (which I expected based on her past tours). I did see Taylor before during her Speak Now tour, so there was that! 2011 was easier and more peaceful as a Swiftie! JP is defo a no-go due to their different concert culture (the complicated way to acquire tickets blew my mind). I did think of Australia (my sister lives there), but tixs were sold out in a flash! And while SG does have a 6-night schedule, there are 22 million registrants across Southeast Asia (and maybe beyond), so it’s like shooting for the moon! *sighs* Besides, money is *huge* problem here!
  • On a personal note, my first psychiatric consultation was a success. It was kind of awkward sharing all those private details, but at least now I know that I have generalized anxiety disorder. I’m conflicted about taking meds, but as the doctor said, do I want to live every waking moment anxious about absolutely everything? My anxiety can be crippling and sometimes hinders me from doing something because I am scared. But it is still something we need to discuss further.

July agenda:

  • Third quarter and end of the fiscal year for the company, so I expected new projects here and there as we enter the new business year (I saw a glimpse, and I am already doing some of it now!) Also, I need to sort out this thing once again, and as always, I am filled with dread over this complicated task! Ah, life as an adult! 😑
  • It’s my niece’s birthday! She’s now a teenager, and she knows exactly what to ask for as a present, and while that saves me from racking my brain out, it does, however, drill my wallet because she is no longer satisfied with the simple stuff! Oh well, I want to be known as her generous aunt! *smirk*
  • New season! New anime! My list isn’t humongous like the previous season, but I’m definitely excited for Jujutsu Kaisen’s return! As well as Bleach! At least I know that I will have a new post aside from the monthly recap!
  • I will try to blog more this month (operative word, try)—at least two more posts sans this recap and my anime watch list! It really feels like I’m seriously neglecting my blog, even though I already compromised the format to suit my lazy blogger ass! We will see!
Let’s all thrive wonderfully this July! I wish you a blessed month
