It’s “salt air and rust on your door ” 👩🏻 🎤 month once again, but before I sing through the lines of August, let me share my July highlights!

July wasn’t really that eventful, but it wasn’t as chill as June. July meant we were halfway into the year, so I had deadlines to meet. I’ve become slightly busy with work, so my promise last month to do sporadic blogging just went down the drain—again!

But at least I made two posts last month! I just need to have that motivation to move things a bit (because honestly, I’m just too lazy to write down my thoughts & so I just semi-rant on Twitter to compensate; yes, Elon, you’re saying something). Speaking of Twitter, with these changes, I’m starting to dislike the platform, and honestly, maybe it’ll push me to actively manage my blog!

Ack, I digress; here’s the quick recap!

July Faves & Highlights!

• Like I said last month, it’s the start of the fiscal year, so work is just pouring in! Honestly, my creative mind is just so exhausted overall that I just want to mindlessly unwind! Even reading has become a bit dull lately ‘cos I’ve started so many and then stopped! I need to get out of this funk; it’s not good! 😮‍💨
• Good thing there’s a new season of anime & that makes me happy! 😤 Jujutsu Kaisen & Bleach are enough happy pills for me! Especially Jujutsu Kaisen! It was soooo good, so movie-like! I can’t believe the last episode of Hidden Inventory arc is ending this week! The other anime series I’m watching are OK. I was particularly impressed with Zom 100‘s 🧟‍♂️ premiere but the latest episodes weren’t as spectacular as episode 1, but it’s good!
• We didn’t go out so much this month because it’s been raining a lot! Monsoon season started a bit late, but it’s been consistently raining for more than a week now (two typhoons!! 🌀) So it’s a hassle to go out. Also, COVID-19 restrictions have been completely lifted, but you know what? My fam & I are still masking. I still practice all the habits I formed during the height of the pandemic—those years were truly eye-opener!
• I finally got two of my wisdom teeth extracted last weekend! It was a long time coming ‘cos I kept postponing! I was a nervous wreck, but my dentist is really good! I think the anesthesia poked my gums hurt more than the actual extraction! I’m just focusing now on aftercare!

August Agenda

• There are no immediate personal tasks or projects for now. Maybe I’ll try to outline things I wanna do so I can work on them when I have time.
• I also need to update my reading list! Again, laziness just dictates how I’ll spend my weekends! Bummer 😌
• Nephew’s birthday, I promised fam that I’d treat them to our favorite ramen place near home. Nephew & oldest sis were supposed to fly here but canceled their plans instead. I also advised her that the monsoon season isn’t really a great time to visit (that’s why we fly around November to March; the weather is stable during the dry season, and also isn’t as hot or extremely wet).
• I’m excited for One Piece live-action! It looks promising, and it feels like they put so much effort & love into the project! I hope it shows in the series! I’m looking forward to it!
• I haven’t seen Barbie, but with work & my health, it just wouldn’t align! Oh please, get better, self! 🙏
