Fourteen years is long enough to gather some behind-the-scenes tidbits from my blogging journey! I’ve experienced countless changes, transitions, and creative endeavors—compromises that have allowed my blog to adapt to my lifestyle. It’s impressive what my sporadic self has managed to churn out! As I always say, change is inevitable, and it’s always been a welcome part of my blogging life.

In the past, I was publishing posts left and right, but as my life and interests changed, so did my blog. It’s incredible how adaptable my little corner of the internet has become! So today, I’ve gathered some trivia—number-focused!—about my journey that I find intriguingly interesting. Without further ado, here are 14 fun facts about my 14 years of blogging!

1. 📅 First Ever Post
   My blogging journey kicked off with a reminiscence of my all-time favorite josei series, Honey and Clover (after watching the Taiwanese drama version), which I eventually deleted. I revived this space as a book review blog with a review of Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick as my first post ever posted on October 22, 2010.
2. 📝 Longest Post
   The longest post I ever wrote was Rain Cloud Hanging Over My Head and It Ain’t Coming Down! Jammin’ to Hard Times, posted on March 31, 2021, coming in at 2301 words! Did I ramble needlessly? Absolutely!
3. ⏳ Shortest Post
   The shortest post? Just one of my yearly holiday greeting—’Merry Christmas!‘—posted on December 25, 2014, with only 50 words! Talk about getting straight to the point! 🎄
4. ❤️ My “Liked” Post
   I find myself wondering why “Picking Up My On-Hold Series Is Much Harder Than I Thought!” has become the most liked post on my blog. It’s quite fascinating to see what resonates with my solid visitors!
5. 🌟 Most Popular Post
   My spotlight review of ^[1]On Spotlight: 우리사이느은 (Our Relationship Is) has racked up 2626 views and counting! Thank you for the love!
6. 📅 Most Posts in a Month
   I posted the most in October 2013 with 41 posts! The strong blogging game was on!
7. 📈 Most Posts in a Year
   In 2013, I published 247 posts, more than any other year! Clearly, I was on a roll!
8. 📰 The First Original Feature
   Hot Off the Press started in 2011, where I shared what I was reading from my own book stack, as well as noting new releases I was excited about!
9. 🏆 Longest Running Original Feature
   My beloved Best of the Best feature has been going strong since 2012! A true staple!
10. 🔄 The First Non-Original Feature
    I started with Waiting on Wednesday a simple feature about upcoming reads that I was most excited about!
11. 💬 Most Active Commenter
    Shoutout to ^[2]Kezia from Chapteriosity! She has commented the most on my blog! Thanks for all lovely words you shared!

    The very first comment on my blog was from Annaline on my Awake on Dawn book review back in 2011! Thanks for breaking the ice!
13. ⏲️ Longest Time Between Posts
    The longest I was away from the blog was from May 31, 2017, to July 20, 2017, totaling 50 days. Just so you know, I’ve only taken blogging breaks three times: in March 2011, June 2017, and June 2021. I was in desperate need of a break to refresh and reorganize!
14. 📊 Total Number of Posts (So Far)
    I’ve written a total of 1,339 posts (this included)—yep, it’s a lot! I actually reflected on reaching 1000th before: saying goodbye to three-digit numbers and embracing the era of four-digit numbers!

I have to dig into my longest and shortest posts, but looking back on previous years, I realize I blogged a lot—like, a lot! While I may have slowed down, it doesn’t mean I don’t still love this hobby! I still have a strong drive to keep writing and sharing my thoughts about life and fangirling. Gathering information about this space of mine gives me such nostalgic feelings! Fourteen years is a long time! I’m so happy that my blog keeps on giving—it’s truly a wonderful outlet!
