So I decided to try another Susane Colasanti books, I still like to read Something Like Fate but apparently it’s still not available. I read the summary of Waiting for You so I decided what the heck, it seems ok.
I like When it Happens more but the story of this book is not that bad at all. It wasn’t exactly romance per se because it tackles a lot of issues. It’s not only the relationship of Nash and Marisa, but also his parents, her teachers, friends, classmates. I think everyone. I don’t know why I’m easily accepted the fact that it isn’t what I hoped it will be because if that’s the case I shouldn’t treated Perfect You that way. But I guess, I lprefer Susane Colasanti writing style than Elizabeth Scott (but I’m dying to read the Unwritten Rule, once I get my copy of it). Moving on, Marisa likes Derek but he has a girlfriend (and if you’re on the right track, yes, she is popular blond girl; what’s new). But suddenly Derek is starting to notice her. Meanwhile his Chemistry (I think it’s Chemistry) partner and childhood nerdy friend Nash is starting to make a move on her but she likes him as a friend. But Nash isn’t just that, unknown to everyone he is the late night DJ that goes by the alias Dirty Dick where kids (when I meant kids high school students) tell him their problems and even giving them inside scoops on the dirty deeds of their school. Everyone appreciates Dirk, even Marisa because he knows what is really happening and share the same sentiments as everyone else. But even though Marisa rejected him they still friends then Marisa notices how Nash slowly changing that she might like him.
The waiting for you title is how Marisa keep saying that she is waiting for the guy who will sweep her feet but unknown to her, that guy is just around the corner, too blind (on other guy) to notice. There’s nothing much to say than it’s an ok book. I definitely am lacking words to describe it. I did enjoy it; it was nice because I love the message on how everyone is capable of changing. That some things are destined for change. I love the part when Marisa realized who Dirk was and when she found out it was Nash and saw him in a different light (in other words, more than a friend) she decided to take the risk (their friendship) because unless she take the chance, she will not know her future with Nash.
Cute book, nothing much but simple story like this, is sometimes nice.
