September ’23 Log: Well, ain’t that a very quick month!
Do you also feel the same way as me? Once the “ber” months roll, the days just fade so fast that I barely have the time to process everything out! Anyway, officially, it’s October, and it’s cake month for me and the blog! 🎉🎊💃 It’s Libra szn too, baby! (Even though I don’t believe in horoscopes, star signs, sun signs, and whatever signs there are! 😛) But for real, it feels like the month went too quickly for me to sort things out. And a perfect example of this is this blog post, ‘coz y’all, I just literally remember (like a few hours earlier) that it’s already the second day of the month and I haven’t written anything about September (good thing I’m off today; I follow Australian holidays)!
I have all things prepared for the month (like I said cake day 🎂) but before that, I’d like to say something about the month that was September!
September faves & Highlights!
- So, last month, I had this adult errand that I needed to sort out. I managed to call them, but they said I still needed to drop by their office to check! Anyway, the actual errand was easy and quick, but I wasn’t prepared when they told me about other things that I needed to do as well! So, to cut a long story short, I ended up staying in their office for most of the afternoon, sorting things out! I did finish most of the tasks *phew* but in retrospect, it was a good call that I went there because it’d have been a huge mess had I neglected that thing for so long! Blessing in disguise (though I have one last hurdle to work on, but that needs to wait until next year, so I’m good for now).
- Big bro’s birthday! It was chaotic because first they arrived late, then we couldn’t find a place to eat (we ended up eating in a chicken place where there were still seats available). It was my first time eating carrot cake, and it was really good. Just in case you don’t know, I don’t like carrots, and lots of local dishes have them, so I usually set them aside and my mom or sibs eat them for me! I was totally surprised that I didn’t taste the veggie-feel of carrot. It has the right amount of sweetness, too. It has a similar texture to sansrival, which is a local pastry or cake that I love! All in all, the night went super fine, even with the hiccups to celebrate his birthday!
- I am pretty proud of my blogging last month! 😤 I published two posts on top of my usual monthly digest! I shared my very short review of OPLA and what I felt about the blogging community. Like I said in that post, I miss the vibrant blogging days. Sure, blogs are still everywhere, but they aren’t as personal as before! Even if they were book review blogs, it was so personalized! It had so much character because you can tell by the way they write and present it, which I feel lacks in professional blogs!
- Summer has officially wrapped up, and I’m super disappointed with the line-up. I dropped 70% of my list, and the only two titles that I finished were Bleach and Shiawase no Kekkon. Jujutsu Kaisen is still airing (have you read the chapter about Gojo? I’m so heartbroken still! Gege, you can’t do this!). I have high hopes for Fall/Autumn because most of the series I plan to watch are ones that I do/did read the manga for, except for Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri! I’m pretty sure I’m not going to drop them!
October Agenda
- I’ve been plagued with lots of anxious thoughts (sometimes it comes when the year’s almost over), so I’m trying to ease my mind and get back on track on my personal projects. My mind is all over the place, and I couldn’t get my reading done peacefully (I ended up jumping from one title to another, unable to absorb the plot properly). I just need to get my sh*t together!
- Of course, cake day! It’s my blog’s 13th birthday (Taylor Swift’s favorite number). I have prepared two posts for it! Yes, yes, I prepared because I wanted something special! Speaking of posting, I’ve organized my “vault,” and maybe I’ll post them soon. Of course, I have December features, but it’s nice to see all these posts I made before to see the light of day
hopefully! - It’s not just my blog, but mine too! Officially hitting the late 30s, oh dear Neptune, my lower joints are cracking. Nothing says old age with your deteriorating health as your youth slowly leaves you! I need to manage my health more carefully since I’m getting old, and it’s showing!
- My sister prepared a Halloween special that involves our furry child! I’m super excited for it! We really don’t celebrate Halloween because it’s more about remembering your loved ones, kinda like Obon in Japan. But we’re doing something nice this year; we’re not going to miss pampering our only child in the household!
Let’s have a fab month! I am praying that October will be a fulfilling, easy on the mind, and fun! 😁
