I know I said I was out of the fanlisting business—and that’s still true even today. It was just so hard to maintain them, especially now that time seems to slip by so quickly ⏳. Before I completely left, I kept getting warnings left and right. At one point, I didn’t even see them coming and had my fanlistings removed without knowing. That’s when I decided it was time to quit entirely and let them go (even if some of those precious fanlistings didn’t find new homes) 💔.

But there was one hobby I fell in love with alongside fanlistings: fan shrining. To me, it’s the ultimate love letter—or perhaps a manifesto—to your undying devotion to a particular subject 💌. Unlike fanlistings, which relied on templates that have since become almost obsolete as the modern internet changed our browsing habits, fan shrines are static. They’re more like archives you can leave up for as long as you want. It’s so fulfilling to pour your love into something like that!

Recently, I was browsing the websites of some old acquaintances from my anime-manga community and noticed that many of their fan shrines are still standing strong. I marveled at how they’ve withstood the test of time, and it sparked something in me—I want to revive mine! 🔥

If you didn’t know, I have this tradition of rewatching my all-time favorite anime, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, every 2–3 years. Sometimes I even reread the manga! I feel like I know the series better now than I did years ago.

Maybe this sounds a bit conceited, but I think I’m a better writer now—or at least better at expressing my thoughts. I’m in a healthier headspace too, so I feel like I’d actually be able to pull it off. I also have so many new thoughts about Katekyo Hitman Reborn—so different from when I first made my shrines—and I’m excited to write them down. My years of book reviewing definitely helped polish my writing 📚 (though my English isn’t perfect, it’s much better than before!).

My love for Katekyo Hitman Reborn hasn’t faded one bit—it’s still my all-time favorite. I feel like I’m capable of handling fan shrines again. Of course, I’m in a different phase of life now and don’t have as much free time as I used to. But I’ve been playing with this idea for a while, and it doesn’t feel like a fleeting interest anymore.

Maybe indulging in this could help me come to terms with it. Is it finally time to revive my shrines? (Yes, just two shrines!) The whole idea is already making me so excited! 😄
