I finished my katekyo hitman reborn marathon last month (so this post is long overdue and in my drafts for ages!), and man;;; extra dose of nostalgia hit me hard! i remember crying for not getting the approved of the fanlisting back in 2007 or 08?; i was such a drama queen (but ended up getting it through fl adoption) good & simpler times! so funny & borderline cringe moments!

but this is just one of things I fondly remember about this series. I met several online friends because of this series! My young self had tons of fun apart from this series that captured me from every angle! characters? ✔️ story? ✔️ art? ✔️ humor? ✔️ action? ✔️ active online community ✔️ and so much more ✔️ that’s why i can’t help rewatching it whenever the mood strikes! and good timing that bilibili offered it before for free (glad i’m done before it became premium!) The last time I rewatched wasn’t long, 2019 iirc but I watched it on an unofficial site so some eps weren’t available so I wouldn’t consider that rewatch successful! *coughs* anyway, i learned new things with ny rewatch & gladly wanna write it down!

1. kokuyo arc in the anime is dark! like there was BLOOD! khr was heavily censored (bcos of timeslot) so i was really surprised to notice it—I didn’t remember about it (it’s the age! )
2. we really didn’t witness hibari fight for real, it was either he had handicap (sakura allergy or no vongola ring) or the opponent wasn’t strong (gola mosca)
3. tsuna unconsciously can make gokudera follow him! poor child, tsuna will say good things & gokudera will take his words back because of it, i’m howling!
4. there’s so much I wanna know about TYL family! esp tsuna despite fircely declining it plenty of times he became such an amazing boss to the point that even hibari followed him! such a tease amano-sensei! (hibari would personally report to tsuna!)
5. last cross is black sheep of all khr ops! It was snoozefest! easy go is the best one (i loved boys & girls but easy go just nice to the ears & eyes)
6. Amano Akira loves Hibari so much, she created 3 characters with the same face! sensei, you’re so obvious!
7. the anime is too tamed down & didn’t like how “colorful” it is;;; idk I want them dark but maybe this was part of censorship!
8. the new vongola rings were tacky! varia arc designs remain superior! oh don’t get me started with vongola gear but this post is anime only so shutting up!
9. gokudera was the only one (well, there was lambo but that ain’t count) that hibari didn’t have any interest in or willingly will interact with! tsuna (herbivore), ryohei (as same age), yamamoto (he kinda ~compliment~ in his own way: choice arc), well you know mukuro ‘cos well, kukuyo happened. it was kinda bummer ‘cos in the two times he was in trouble gokudera was the one who saved him: under the rubbles in kokuyo arc & during battle w/ genkishi. then again he saved gokudera too but yeah, have some proper interactions you two!
10. The anime ages like fine wine! I know anime today are upping their level with amazing & superior animation & explosive fight scenes but despite being none of the Artland still managed to deliver such consistent animation, in 204 episodes at that!
