Life Lately

March was a really good month. ✨ It was slow, quiet, and—I’m saying this with a very grateful heart—boring. Yes, boring is nice. Boring means no big events, just days flowing according to my routine. And nothing beats the peacefulness of simply breezing through life as it unfolds.

My anxiety has calmed down a bit. It hasn’t completely gone away, and there were days when I had to hold myself together because, just as I get over one issue, a new one pops up. Or, in an incredibly frustrating move, I end up revisiting issues I thought I had already closed. But I’m trying to rationalize my emotions and thoughts, reminding myself that I’m fine, my body is okay, and things will be okay. To have faith in myself and most importantly in God.

I planned to blog this month, but I was a bit preoccupied with other things. Not necessarily busy, but I was working on something else (more on that below) during weekends, so I decided not to blog and instead focus my attention on that. Anyway, getting distracted is so much better than sitting in a corner, overthinking everything. Truly keeping myself collected is easier when I channel my energy into something else.

march was about embracing the calm

Life Lately

  • Lunch date with mom. Mom and I had a cute lunch date after church service. We had a great meal! My two younger sisters couldn’t join us because they were sleep-deprived, so we brought them some takeout. Since Mom really liked the place, maybe we could go back there for Mother’s Day.
  • Searching for the perfect spring jacket. We have travel plans this April: somewhere with spring and somewhere none of us have visited before. I’m actually pretty nervous about it, but I pray we’ll have a great time. I’m not revealing the country yet, but I’ll definitely blog about the adventure.
  • Pampering at the salon. My hair is in dire need of professional care. Since the pandemic, I haven’t been back to a salon because my mom learned how to cut and color hair, so I just asked her to do it for me. But my hair is seriously dry and lifeless, so I finally decided to drop by a salon for some much-needed TLC. I’m happy with the outcome! I also wanted it to look nice in time for our trip.
  • Broken refrigerator. My sister bought our refrigerator in 2021,Ā  during the pandemic. We had two tubs of ice cream that I was so excited to eat, but when I opened them, they had completely melted. Turns out, our ref wasn’t cooling anymore. We had to wait two days for the repairman, and when he finally came, he told us that the motherboard and compressor were totally busted. While it could be fixed, he couldn’t guarantee it wouldn’t break again. So, off my savings went to buy a new one. Frustrating that it had to happen just as the weather was getting warmer! What a perfect timing, really. Dry season being officially here and all!
  • Blog design brainstorming. I’m starting my design early because, honestly, who knows when I’ll feel inspired and motivated again? Time is flying, and I don’t want to end up rushing to put together my 15th-anniversary designs at the last minute. I actually like what I’ve come up with so far, but I’m not completely sold on it yet. But at least I have a solid starting point, and like always, the design will develop as I go.

April Agenda

  • Our upcoming travel. I guess it is safe to say that this could be the highlight of my/our April! We postponed our annual trip and moved it to April. I’m excited to explore new places and spend time with family.
  • New anime season. Spring means new anime series! I have about 2-3 shows I’m interested in checking out, but we’ll see. I dropped a lot of titles last season. Honestly, I’ve been in a funky mood when it comes to watching anime and even my reading has been a little off this month. I’m not expecting to keep up with a lot of shows since April will be busy with family plans, but I’ll check what I can.
  • Fam birthday season begins. My sister and little nephew’s birthdays are coming up! I’m pretty sure we won’t be celebrating my nephew’s birthday here since we’ll be out of the country. As for my sister, I’m also not sure if we’ll celebrate early before our oldest sib flies back to Australia. Let’s see what the family decides.
  • Praying for a safe and healthy month. I’m praying for a nice, peaceful April. The weather bureau said this summer (dry season) won’t be as brutal as last year (when it peaked due to el niƱo), but honestly, just walking outside—even in the evenings—makes me sweat buckets. It’s really that hot. So, I pray for good (tolerable at least) weather, for our health and safety, and for no more surprises along the way because my savings are getting lonelier. Also, I need to finish some adulting errands before the first quarter ends. I’ve gotta get everything in order before our big vacation!

Praying for blessed days ahead. I’ll continue to trust and strengthen my faith in God, and so should you! 😊🌷🫧💭
