Life Lately

It feels like the month of June was longer than it actually was? So much stuff happened, and every time I looked at the calendar, I was like “oh, still June?” Not that I want the time or days to fly faster than they already are. I’m not really complaining, more like reflecting? I do love slow and uneventful days. But June was anything but boring so let’s recap, shall we?

june was anything but boring

Life Lately

  • Birthdays galore. As I mentioned last time, it was our baby ween’s birthday. Our motif was grandma cottagecore (shared the cutie photo on twitter!). My sister bought this huge white backdrop, similar to the ones used in studios? And it was super cute and clean. We ended up doing a pictorial for both of them since their birthdays are two days apart. I really loved the photos (courtesy of yours truly, sorry for tooting my own horn haha).
  • Ā Meeting my uni buddy. We’ve been talking and asking everyone to join and meet up, but alas, life as an adult isn’t as flexible as some may think. So we decided to meet up, just the two of us. And wow, we talked for hours. I really miss my uni friends. The whole time we were just catching up! I’m happy to hear how my classmates are doing now (I don’t have facebook, so I’ve been out of the loop). I really want us all to meet again, maybe have a reunion. I want to meet their kids too. Aw, I really am getting old! But it was so fun. Can’t wait for the next time!
  • What’s a monthly recap without a health-related complaint? So yeah, I think my GERD is acting up, probably worse than before. I’ve been trying to manage it on my own with antacids and bland food (I miss my drinks! My lemon iced tea 🤧), but it’s still there. I might get it checked out (not a fan of hospitals or clinics), but my anxiety always shows up with all the worst-case scenarios. Still, it’s probably best to deal with it sooner than later.
  • I thought I was a goner?! Not health-related, but I made a really dumb mistake at work that could’ve gotten me into serious trouble. But I’m glad I was quick-witted and ignored all the anxiety to make sure everything got sorted out and fixed—which I did. I told my manager right away and he seemed pretty chill about it. So maybe I overreacted? Still, better to be safe than sorry because honestly, it was a stupid mistake, even for me. On the flip side, I’m thankful my head was in the right headspace to undo the mess I made. *wipes sweat*

July Agenda

  • Third quarter starts, adult tasks to do. Every time a new quarter rolls in, I feel the urge to organize my life and get my responsibilities sorted out. I don’t mind it as much as I used to, but there’s still a certain pressure that comes with it. But yeah, what’s a girl gotta do?
  • Niece’s birthday. I’ve been asking her what she wants, but she hasn’t decided yet. Hopefully this tita’s little piggybank doesn’t go empty because there are still bills to pay and loans to finish (fingers crossed for September).
  • Speaking of money, gotta have some for a new phone. No, my phone isn’t broken. It still works perfectly, sharp screen, smooth UI, all the shebang! But it’s five years old now and it will hit its last security update soon. Since I use my phone a lot, it’s imperative to stay secure. So I’m planning to replace my personal phone…soon? And maybe keep this one for more casual use since it still works great. I don’t know if it’s a weird flex, but I really tend to keep my gadgets for as long as they last. I’m just careful with them, so they outlive their expected lifespan. Oh well!
  • Just a better July, I guess. June was a good month overall. Sure, I had things that triggered my anxiety, but I’m slowly working on it. It’s a work in progress, but the will to keep moving forward, even with the fear, is still there. I think I’m doing pretty good, if I say so myself (I have to motivate myself, you know).

A fun and great July to me and everyone else! 🤍☁️🌿🍃✨️
