Immersing in history and that cool tropical waters!
I’m going to do a short recap of the trips I had last month. In case it isn’t obvious, prior to the pandemic, my family travelled annually. It started with my sister visiting PH every year in ’19 and now it has become a tradition!

We usually do some short domestic travels (just outside of the metro though) along with short overseas trip! My sister craves anything Filipino, so we usually do that! This year we had some quick beach gateway and a stroll in a heritage town! We went to Batangas for the much needed vitamin sea! Since it’s January, the water temp was kinda cold (which I liked! I didn’t get sunburned). I really didn’t swim though, but I had fun watching my nephews and niece enjoying the tropical waters! This trip was pretty amazing ‘cos we were in the middle of the sea and the water was still so shallow! We rented this floating cottage (very big raft made of bamboos) and then stayed the night via AirBNB.
The next day, we went to Taal, Batangas to visit the heritage town! We have been to some places like Vigan and Las Casas (though this one was modern construction though the houses are ancestral!). It’s nice to see more of PH history through landscape and structure like the ones in Taal. There were a lot of preserved houses here, as well as other historical architecture. It really makes you feel like the old times!
I guess it’s worth saying that I also visited Intramuros and Fort Santiago. I have been here many times but my sister wanted to visit as well. I wish we could ride bikes but we were running out of time! There is always a next time!
Next up! Japan trip! 旅行中楽しい思いをした。
