^ Ehem, please excuse my inability to construct a sentence (not even a proper word) but can’t help fangirling right now. This is by far the best book in the series (and not because the shipping finally paid off, though it was short lived. Damn it Beck, pull yourself together). I think this was the peak of the story. There’s demon, hellspawn kicking here. Answers I’ve been wanting to know and development regarding the war, and its major players (and we know Riley is part of it). And well…as I said the romance finally got some major progress. Wow, three books in the making. What can I say, Beck and Riley is one stubborn (always in denial) couple.
I was planning to read it slowly but my plan didn’t work. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. The book started on a high note and things happened after another and I just unconsciously kept turning the page fixated to know what’s next. I wanted to know who reanimated Riley’s dad. Why the hunters want Riley. And what become of Ori after what happened between him and Riley. And a lot more which I’m very thankful that I got the answers I’m looking for. But a few more is still left unsaid and I think went to the backburner, saving for the finale. And as an open diehard backwoods boy fan, I can’t wait to know his past.
But…is his past really that bad that once again he pushes Riley away? Just thinking. Intrigued, actually.
I don’t dislike the ending at all. Because if they will end up together, (and they do deserve a happily ever after) I want everything on the table. Good, bad sides. I think it will also help if they stop constantly assuming what’s good for each other (things that pushes them apart). It was a huge development when they finally open up to each other (and you thought it was the kiss. 😛 Well heck, who am I kidding, yes the KISS too). So I loved that Riley hold on. That made me smile. Hands down to her because not only did she kick hellspawn butts here but I super loved her conviction of not letting Beck go that easily. And yes, Riley your hunch is right it has something to do with that biatch, Justine. And if ever you need someone to take her down, just call me I’ll help you. LOL
I think the series can end here. Everything had been laid out. Particularly about the war. But…but…but…THE FOURTH BOOK IS ABOUT BECK! Beck!!! This country music junkie, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood fanboy, closet rabbit owner, resident backwoods boy and overall hottie is my favorite character from the series. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity, now do I? So hell yeah, bring it on!
PS. I also didn’t like the cover. I hate when I collect books in a series and they aren’t uniformed. It’s already an eyesore when some are not the same size. This one is a total overhaul. *pouts*
