2024 Edition of Bar, Graphs, and All Things Stats. 🥧📈📌🌟
Oh wow, it’s that time of the year again! Time to crunch some graphs and stats for all the reading I did this year. It’s funny how it started with me just gauging the number of books, manga, and webtoons I read before, and it was only part of my throwback post. But now, it’s a standalone feature. I love looking back at how much I read this year. (Note: these stats cover December 2023 to November 2024!). As usual, I read a lot—but not a lot! I think the emotional turmoil I went through this year may have factored into the decline in my reading, but I still did devour anything I found interesting.

I digress—let’s take a look at how much I read this year. I read 144 titles—56 less than last year. It’s a bit of a bummer, but life was a bit chaotic this year. I also think I did a lot of rereading, which could explain the downward trend. Plus, life happened, and I didn’t have as much time to read compared to last year.
And as expected, webtoons completely eclipsed everything else as my favorite format. What can I say? They’re everywhere, and with simul-pub, it’s so easy to dive down the rabbit hole! But that said, I also discovered some new gems in manga like Kaijuu No. 8 and Sakamoto Days. I loved WindBreaker so much that I read the manga ahead of time. Can’t wait for the Keel Arc!
Now, let’s dive into the numbers! Over the course of my reading, I tackled a total of 144 series. Out of these, 133 were webtoons and 11 were manga. Looking at the reads month by month, December 2023 had the highest with 16 reads—kinda ironic since this technically belongs to 2023, but let’s ignore that fact, haha! My reading year actually starts in December of the previous year. Meanwhile, January 2024 had the lowest with just 7 reads. There were a few months that had the same number of reads, like May and August 2024, both with 13, and September and November 2024, both with 15. It’s fun to see how the numbers line up like that, you can definitely see how consistent I was!
And there you have it! Not gonna lie, I was a bit disappointed when I saw the numbers were a bit lower than last year. I was expecting either the same or just a tiny bit lower. But 144 is still an amazing number! I can’t wait to discover even more fascinating reads for 2025!
