15th cake day (part 2!): 15 fandoms that made this blog the ultimate fangirl hub! 💖✨🤘
If there’s one thing I love about my blog, it’s that I can fangirl freely and without limits because this space is mine. Honestly, one thing that has stayed the same throughout the years is that I just wanna fangirl so bad, hence the blog’s existence!
I used to think I started blogging to improve my writing (did I? did I improve? honestly, who knows?). But in all seriousness, fangirling is such a me thing. Unfortunately, I’m surrounded by non-weebs in real life, so my fangirling tends to be a little restrained. But when I’m here, writing on my blog, I can go on and on, with zero care about how silly I might sound.
In 15 years, so many fandoms have come and gone. So, for part two of my blogoversary celebration, here are 15 fandoms or obsessions from the past 15 years! 🎉
📚 Bookish Fangirl Era
- ①Shatter Me Series — Gaaah!!! I had that Project 62 series about Aaron Warner, and boy, do I cringe now at how cheesy I was! Young Mitchii was just way too passionate!
- ② Soul Screamers — Tod. Also, Tod! I was so in love with this curly blonde grim reaper who stole my heart & also our main girl, Kaylee. The shipping was serious, guys—seven books’ worth of emotional investment!
- ③ Contemporary YA Books — Since You’ve Been Gone, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, If I Stay, and all those fluffy Rachel Hawthorne reads—they made me feel young, giggly, and full of soft, cutesy fluff!
- ④ Young Adult Bookworm Era — For a long time, I was that bookworm girlie who escaped to the bookstore weekly (no, as in legit!). My early 20s were just me devouring book after book, obsessing over my Goodreads challenge. I miss that bookish version of me so much!
🎌 Anime, Manga, & Weeb Life
- ⑤ Anime & Manga (General) — I’m originally a weeb (non-derogatory), so of course this deserves a spot! I’m still a huge fan, though as I get older, I’ve become a bit more selective. Back in the day, I’d watch anything! I’m glad anime/manga are mainstream and accessible—everyone’s welcome now, and I love that!
- ⑥ Raise wa Tannin ga Ii — I’ve always been fascinated by fictional mob stories, even back in my bookworm era. When Raise wa Tannin ga Ii dropped (only two chapters at the time!), I was hooked. I even bought a few volumes when I visited Japan in 2023!
- ⑦ Jujutsu Kaisen — My ultimate pandemic escape! That opening song sold me instantly, and the rest is history. Am I still salty about Gojo? Yes. Yes, I still am. 😤
- ⑧ Tokyo Ghoul — My official weeb rebirth happened in 2013, and Tokyo Ghoul hit hard. That series literally changed my brain chemistry. Would I want a reboot of the anime? Absolutely.
- ⑨ Haikyuu!! (and other sports anime/manga) — I once wrote a super long post (like, 10 years ago?!) about my love for passionate boys chasing their sports dreams 🏐 My passion for passionate characters was so real!
- ⑩ Shoujo Manga — At one point, my entire reading list was shoujo. Though genres and interests have evolved, I’ll always have a soft spot for those cute, heart-fluttering love stories. My millennial heart still swoons!
📱Webtoons & Manhwa Love
- ⑪ Webtoons — Ah, the dam that broke everything open! Once I started reading webtoons, I never looked back. With so many genres and niches, there’s always something to read. During the pandemic, they kept me sane when everything felt bleak; still do, honestly!
- â‘« The Breaker — One of my OG manhwa series! Before webtoons, I wasn’t really into manhwa (I found them kinda inferior??? to manga so sorry 😅), but The Breaker was a total game-changer and easily one of the best I’ve ever read. Still in my Hall of Fame!
- ⑬ Cheese in the Trap — Another OG favorite. I even wrote a full spotlight post about how much I adored it. I still reread it sometimes and it’s such a cathartic, psychological gem that never gets old
- ①Romance Fantasy Webtoons — All the villainess stories! All the isekai tropes! I devoured so many that they dominated my monthly wrap-ups like a shopaholic on a spree! They’re fun, they’re addictive, and they let me forget my worries, which is what reading’s always been for me!
💘 Absolute Fangirl Behavior
- â‘® Shipping & OTPs — Real-life love life? Maybe not so lucky 🤷🏻♀️ But my ships? They always sail! From doomed pairings to power couples that win, my blog has seen it all. Shipping chaos has always been at the heart of my fangirl soul!
